811 Report: Room to Improve in NJ

The 811 system used to prevent damage to underground utility lines is a critical part of your company's daily routine to effectively complete projects and ensure safe working conditions. NUCA and its partners have commissioned an incredibly valuable study on the failures of 811, and the ways to improve it, around the country. While New Jersey performed well in comparison to other states, a credit to the many years of industry attention to damage prevention and safety, there is still room for significant improvement. The report estimates that $90 million is lost annually largely as a result of inefficiencies and communication failures. You can read the entire report on New Jersey here. NUCA NJ will continue to review the findings and recommendations to determine future action that can be designed to improve the 811 system in our state.
