As you will recall, NUCA NJ reached out to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities several months ago urging the body to establish a "WSIC", or Wastewater System Improvement Charge. The BPU is now confirming via a new rule proposal that they agree and intend to accomplish just that, providing investor-owned utilities the ability to accelerate their investment in wastewater infrastructure by tapping into this new and sensible kind of funding source. Our Association will continue to support the creation of a "WSIC" as it heads towards final adoption.
