Houses Passes WOTUS Reform

House Republicans passed a bill to overturn President Biden’s reinstatement of onerous rules which govern construction along major national waterways—rules that had been rolled back during the previous Administration. If signed into law, H.J. Res. 27 would ease regulatory burdens by invalidating the Biden Administration’s overreaching rule redefining WOTUS, Waters of the US. The bill stands a good chance of success in the Senate due to the support of Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV), but its ultimate fate is uncertain.
