More Mandates from Murphy: New Public Construction Impacted

Governor Murphy recently enacted Executive Order 271 which requires contractors (and subcontractors) that enter into new contracts with the state, or renew or extend existing contracts, to provide proof that their workers have received the COVID-19 vaccine or require weekly testing. This new mandate, aside from its intrusive nature, will force contractors to certify both before and throughout the project that the provisions of the EO are being upheld and keep records to substantiate the vaccinations/tests. Penalties are severe and may include imprisonment and fines for disobedience. NUCA NJ is working with other concerned groups to soften its magnitude and protect contractors from onerous mandates and harsh penalties.
