NUCA Trench Safety Stand Down Starts Today

Every June, NUCA holds the Trench Safety Stand Down (TSSD) Week for the utility construction industry. This year’s event, June 19th through 23rd, reaches tens of thousands of workers at hundreds of jobsites across the nation. Employers can talk directly to employees about safety, focusing on trench and excavation hazards and reinforcing the importance of using trench protective systems to protect workers from trenching hazards.

June has been declared “Trench Safety Month” by NUCA, further highlighting its innovative educational and safety programs. The entire month is dedicated to emphasizing the importance of employee safety when working underground and/or in and around trenches.
