The Great American Outdoors Act, legislation strongly supported by NUCA National and NUCA New Jersey, will provide funding for badly needed water and wastewater infrastructure projects on public lands. Key provisions include full, mandatory annual funding of $900 million per year for the Land and Water Conservation Fund and a new five-year trust fund of up to $9.5 billion from unallocated onshore and offshore energy revenues to address a $20 billion deferred maintenance backlog in America’s national parks and public lands. It is estimated to provide over 100,000 construction jobs and help numerous projects in the area finally go to bid. H.R. 1957/S. 3422 passed both chambers with strong bipartisan support and is expected to be signed into law shortly by President Trump. We thank our New Jersey Congressional delegation for once again demonstrating unanimous support on this critical funding measure.
