Traffic Control Reforms Edging Closer

NUCA NJ continues to advocate for standardizing the cost of a town’s uniformed traffic control throughout the state. Led by NUCA NJ President Jeff Waters and Board Member Dave Rible, a great deal of progress has been with the Department of Community Affairs to advance regulations that would streamline the traffic control process and reduce the outrageous administrative costs. NUCA NJ provided input at the outset when the DCA began crafting reforms this summer and has recently provided comments on those draft regulations when they were completed. Other stakeholders are now reviewing the byproduct of this collaboration that has included our association and others, namely UTCA NJ and the NJ Utilities Association. We expect the reforms to go through the formal rule making process sometime soon.
