History: $1T Infrastructure Spending Passes

The historic $1 trillion federal infrastructure spending bill, after several delays and growing concerns that it might not ever reach a vote, is heading for President Biden's signature. The vote was bipartisan with 13 Republicans voting to support the legislation, including both New Jersey Republican Congressmen, Chris Smith and Jeff Van Drew. Only six members of the Democratic Party, the group of ultra liberal members known as "The Squad", ultimately voted against the bill, despite weeks of threats to do so if the larger social infrastructure bill wasn't passed at the same time. Months of lobbying by the NUCA National Government Affairs team as well as the NUCA New Jersey staff, especially in terms of solidifying the New Jersey delegation's unanimous support for the measure, finally culminates in the passing of this generational investment.
