The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs recently proposed new rules to address the issue of traffic control services. This UTCA-led initiative would cap the administrative fees that local governments can charge to utilize off-duty law enforcement officers for traffic control. Ensuring that construction zones are safe is the most important goal for our organization. The system that is in place to protect workers must also be run in a fair and efficient manner for taxpayers and contractors. NUCA NJ therefore submitted comments to DCA in support of this reform measure. We would like to commend NUCA NJ board members Dave Rible and Jeff Waters for their several years of work on this issue.
